WorkPulse has two parts: a lightweight desktop agent that runs in the system tray of each monitored computer, and a cloud-hosted supervisor dashboard that works in any modern browser. The agent tracks keyboard and mouse activity, foreground apps and URLs, and takes screenshots during checked-in shifts; data is encrypted in transit and at rest, redacted on-device where sensitive, and streamed to the dashboard in real time. There is nothing to self-host.

Five steps, start to finish

    Create your organization

    Sign up free, no credit card. Invite supervisors, create teams, and set your monitoring policy (screenshots, tracking, recording, visible or silent mode) per team.

    Install the agent on each computer

    Download the installer from your dashboard: macOS today, Windows coming soon. For fleets, deploy silently via MDM; Intune, Jamf, and enrollment-token mass deployment are supported. The agent lives in the system tray.

    Agents check in to their shift

    One click on the tray icon starts the shift. In visible mode the agent sees a consent screen at first run and a status window while monitored. Outside a shift, nothing is tracked.

    Data streams to your dashboard

    Activity metrics, app and URL usage, and screenshots upload continuously over TLS. Sensitive apps and sites are blurred on the device before upload. If the network drops, an encrypted local queue syncs everything on reconnect.

    You watch the floor live

    The dashboard shows real-time status for every agent, pushed over WebSocket. Reports, replays, anomaly alerts, and scheduled email summaries build on the same data.

What runs where

The desktop agent

A native tray app (Tauri/Rust) with a small footprint. It measures input activity, detects foreground apps and browser URLs, and captures screenshots and optional screen recordings, all gated to checked-in shifts. Quit-PIN protection and tamper detection keep it from being silently disabled.

The cloud backend

Fully managed; you host nothing. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit; screenshots and recordings live in private object storage, never public. Role-based access and audit logs govern every read.

The supervisor dashboard

Runs in any modern browser. Live floor view, per-agent deep dives, session replay, productivity reports, and org settings, including per-team policy toggles and billing.

What the agent needs on macOS

  • Accessibility permission, to measure keyboard and mouse activity (input counts, not keylogging)
  • Screen Recording permission, for screenshots and session replay
  • Network access: HTTPS to the WorkPulse cloud; corporate proxies and TLS inspection are supported natively

FAQ

Setup & agent questions

Do I need to host or maintain any servers?
No. WorkPulse is fully cloud-hosted. You install the desktop agent on monitored computers and open the dashboard in a browser. That is the whole deployment.
Can we mass-deploy the agent?
Yes. The agent supports MDM deployment with enrollment tokens, including Intune and Jamf templates, plus native handling of corporate proxies and TLS-inspecting middleboxes.
Does the agent slow computers down?
The agent is a native Rust application designed to idle in the tray. Activity measurement is event-driven, and screenshots are captured and compressed efficiently. Agents typically don't notice it.
Is the agent a keylogger?
No. WorkPulse measures activity levels (how much typing and mouse movement is happening), not what is typed. Keystroke content is never captured or transmitted.
What happens outside a shift?
Nothing is tracked. Monitoring is gated to checked-in shifts; before check-in and after check-out the agent sits idle in the tray.
